Steven Oscherwitz, MD is a specialist in Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine. He earned his Medical Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas in 1986, and completed his Internal Medicine Residency, Chief Residency, and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
He completed graduate studies in Military Tropical Diseases at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Washington, D.C. and cared for armed service members at Wilford Hall Medical Center at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
He was a physician for archaeologists in Guatemala’s Peten Region and assisted with parasite eradication efforts in China.
Dr. Oscherwitz was a Case-Based Instruction Facilitator at the UA College of Medicine in Phoenix prior to becoming a Clinical Assistant Professor in Tucson.
Dr. Oscherwitz has been featured on the Discovery Channel’s Animal Planet, Discovery Health Channel, local TV, radio programming and in print media. In addition, he has served as a resource for British Airways and Conde Nast Traveler.
